April 27, 2010 - Dogfish Head Alehouse Fundraiser and Silent Auction raises $4,200 for Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue
Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company would like to thank Mr. Joe Hospital and his entire team at the Dogfish Head Alehouse in the Greenbrier Shopping Center. Mr. Hospital, through his company's community outreach program, sponsored a daylong fundraiser for Fair Oaks Fire and Rescue where Fair Oaks volunteers staffed displays that were open to the public including:
- Tours of the 1991 Pierce fire engine that Fair Oaks is currently in the process of replacing
- Hats, coloring pages, and crayons for the kids
- Explanation of the combination paid/volunteer fire and rescue system in Fairfax County, and the opportunity to ask questions about services and funding mechanisms
- A silent auction whose proceeds directly benefit FOVFR's capital vehicle replacement program
Mr. Hospital generously donated 15% of the day's sales to FOVFR which, combined with the proceeds from the silent auction, generated over $4,200 in donations.
