April 17, 2009 - Fair Oaks Fire and Rescue places new ambulance in service to the community.
Today at 7:00pm marked the initiation and entry into service of Fair Oaks Fire and Rescue's newest vehicle, a state of the art 2009 Horton Freightliner ambulance, as A421. Ambulance 421 was in service through the end of shift at 7:00am on April 18th, during which time it responded to two 9-1-1 calls for emergency assistance.
At a cost of over $217,000 the new ambulance replaces a 1996 Ford F350 ambulance that had served us well, but could not keep up with the size required for delivery of modern Basic Life Support services.
During its first 10 days in operation, A421 was in service for 54 hours, responding to 8 calls for emergency assistance and one community outreach event.
