The Ambulance Chase 5K and 1/2 Mile Fun Run is an annual fundraising event where proceeds directly benefit the purchase of vehicles that provide fire and rescue services to our community. Fair Oaks' volunteer staff work hard throughout the year to not only provide those services in partnership with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, we perform the administrative functions of running a non-profit corporation, managing our membership, and raising the funds to provide our services. The annual Ambulance Chase is a key component of our fundraising and community outreach program, where the public and fire and rescue personnel can interact and of course sit in a fire truck and ambulance!
Fair Oaks' latest acquisition, which has just been accepted into the vehicle fleet, was on display at the race. See the article below for links to additional information on this state-of-the-art 2011 Pierce Velocity fire engine.

- Explanation of the combination paid/volunteer fire and rescue system in Fairfax County, and the opportunity to ask questions about services and funding mechanisms
- A silent auction whose proceeds directly benefit FOVFR's capital vehicle replacement program
Last year's event raised over $4,200 for Fair Oaks from a donation by Dogfish Head Alehouse of 15% of the day's proceeds, and the silent auction.
