About Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Co.
The Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Co. has been providing fire protection and emergency medical services to Fairfax County residents, businesses, and visitors since 1957.
Working along side career personnel of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, our volunteers are certified at all levels of emergency services from firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians to line officers and battalion chiefs. Our members provide supplemental staffing on frontline county units as well as staff additional units during periods of training or high incident activity.

Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue Co., Inc. provides fire and emergency medical services under the authority of the Fire Chief of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Administratively, we are an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation organized in the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide volunteer fire and rescue services.
Our funding comes from two sources:

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department provides a contribution to partially defray the cost of purchasing costly fire and rescue vehicles, provides training through the Fire and Rescue Academy, and owns Fire Station 421 where we operate. Fair Oaks Volunteer
Fire and Rescue Company provides fire and emergency medical services to the Fair Oaks community
and throughout the Northern Virginia region. Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue is a member of the Fairfax County Volunteer Fire and
Rescue Association, which provides the operational interface between the
county's 12 volunteer departments and the dedicated career staff of the Fairfax
County Fire and Rescue Department.
Under the operational purview of the Fairfax County Fire
and Rescue Department, Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue owns and staffs
the following apparatus at Fire Station 421:
1 Basic Life Support ambulance (A421)
1 Advanced Life Support medic (M421B)
1 Fire Engine (E421B)
1 Command Officer vehicle (Chief 421)
Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue partners with Fairfax
County Fire and Rescue Department as the owner of the following vehicles
staffed 24 x 7 x 365 by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department firefighters and
paramedics:
1 Heavy Rescue (R421)
1 Advanced Life Support medic (M421)
1 Utility/Boat tow vehicle (UT421)
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department owns and provides
24 x 7 x 365 staffing for the following vehicles at Fire Station 421:
1 Fire Engine (E421)
1 Technical Rescue structural support (cave-in) vehicle (TR421)
1 Command Officer vehicle (BC403)
