Volunteer with Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire and Rescue
Volunteering as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, or administrative member of a fire and rescue company can be very rewarding. Knowing that you've made a difference in the lives of people that you help, or knowing that you do administrative work which allows others to provide assistance at emergencies is an excellent feeling.
Requirements

Age: Must be at least 18 years old

Physical Fitness: Operational Members should be in good physical condition

Residency: You should expect to stay in the area for at least three years
Membership Roles

Operational: These members provide service at the scene of an emergency

EMS-Only: members who provide emergency medical services (EMS) by riding on ambulances and medic units.

Dual: members providing both fire suppression and emergency medical services, and ride on all vehicles.

Administrative: These members work behind the scenes to make it all happen. Roles include President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Equipment Manager, Quartermaster, Public Relations, Fundraising and others

You can start the process by attending one of our prospective member information meetings. These meetings last about one and a half hours, and provide an overview of what it takes to be a volunteer and the steps in the application process.
